Walker Outdoor Solutions | Decks and Landscaping started as a ‘kid next door’ landscaping and carpentry service. Owner, JJ Martin—a Minnetonka native and graduate of Hopkins High School—developed a love for serving his community through construction and property maintenance during his high school years. He learned the skills his clients needed and never shied away from taking on new challenges. Over time, he built expertise in carpentry, landscaping, grading, drainage, staining, painting, planting, and more.

Now, with over five years of experience in the outdoor construction and maintenance industry, Walker Outdoor Solutions | Decks and Landscaping has grown from humble beginnings into a trusted name. "We hired Walker Outdoor Solutions and JJ back in 2023 to replace a crumbling retaining wall in our backyard near our pool. It was a project that looked small but with the amount of old railroad ties to be removed, earth to be moved, plants to be moved and replanted and weight of stone to be brought in we knew it wouldn’t be an easy one. JJ was very responsive, provided a fair quote, scheduled us in without over promising on timeline (which I feel like can be a huge issue these days), and did a wonderful job ok the project! Going into the project we thought we knew what we wanted and JJ provided some suggestions that he thought would make it look nicer, these suggestions didn’t increase the price of our bid at all, and indeed it looks way better than we could have thought. 2 years later we still love our backyard retaining wall! We have sent JJs name to friends and family across the twin cities because he is attentive to his clients, is a very hard worker (especially for his age!) and does phenomenal work. Can’t wait to have him back for more projects!"
